Sandra Christie, Restoration Photo’s owner and lead artist, has over 25 years of experience in fine arts. Traditionally trained at Parsons School of Design in NY she has extensive expertise in image editing, photo restoration and design and works with consumer and corporate clients, including IBM, M&M Mars, Seagram’s, Disney, Reuters, Chase Manhattan, Nabisco, Hasbro and others.
Sandra opened Restoration Photo in 1997. As owner and lead artist she both restores photos as well as evaluates and oversees every Restoration Photo project to ensure quality and customer satisfaction. While many restoration services rely solely on computer technology to update and restore photos – Sandra demonstrates that a combination of research, fine art and technology are critical for optimal results. She frequently draws on her research skills and knowledge of art history when evaluating and restoring an image. Historic research is often necessary to authentically reconstruct missing portions of photos; she then uses her experience and talent combined with technology to achieve seamless results.
In addition to her client work, she is an experienced instructor having taught Adobe Photoshop Image Editing/Manipulation, Adobe Illustrator, Multimedia Development, and Computer Interface Design at Parsons School of Design and the Silvermine Artists Guild. She has studied fine arts in Paris, and has completed intensive study in Digital Fine Art Applications at the University of California at Los Angeles. She has her bachelor of fine arts degree from Parsons School of Design in New York City.
